Board of Directors

Gregory J. Easton

CEO

  • Greg Easton is CEO and Chairman of the Board of Jas. D. Easton, Inc., a privately owned Salt Lake City, Utah-based manufacturer of sports equipment. Divisions include Easton Technical Products, Inc. and Hoyt Archery, Inc.

    Greg holds an MBA and a BA in Economics, both from UCLA. He is an avid bowhunter and enjoys other outdoor activities including mountain biking, hiking, golf, and skiing. Born and raised in Southern California, Greg has lived in Park City since 1996. He is married to Carol, a Utah native, and together they have two children.

    Greg currently serves on the following Boards: Easton Sports Development Foundation (President & Chairman), Easton Sports Development Foundation II (President & Chairman), Easton Foundation, National Field Archery Association Foundation and the Utah Sports Commission. He has previously held Board positions with Archery Trade Association, FIDTA – Fondation Internationale du Développement du Tir à l’Arc, National Archery Association Foundation, World Archery, and USA Archery.

Karen Griffin

SECRETARY

  • Karen Griffin is the Corporate Risk Manager for Jas. D. Easton, Inc., the parent company of Easton Technical Products and Hoyt Archery. Karen started her career as court clerk for a Utah circuit and district court, as well as a case manager at the Utah Court of Appeals. She also worked for a Salt Lake City-based law firm and for Ernst & Young before joining Easton in 1992.

    Karen serves as the corporate secretary for the Easton Foundations, as well as a member of the Boards of Directors. She also serves on the Board and as Secretary/Treasurer of the National Archery Association Foundation, as well as President and Board member of the Utah Chapter of Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS).

    Karen holds a B.S. degree in Psychology and Business from the University of Utah. She and her husband, Gray, live in Utah and enjoy hiking, golf, and snowshoeing.

Daren Cottle

PRESIDENT & CFO

  • Daren Cottle is President & CFO of the outdoor products company Jas. D. Easton, Inc., parent company of Easton Archery, Hoyt Archery, Beman, Fuse and Delta McKenzie. Daren began his career with the CPA firm Deloitte before spending 11 years with Huntsman Corporation and Huntsman Packaging. After Huntsman, he was the Controller of Specialized Bicycle and CFO of Sun Optics before joining Easton in 2004.

    Daren serves on the Outdoor Recreation Advisory Committee to the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

    Daren enjoys bowhunting and target archery and spends as much time as possible in the backcountry mountain biking, backcountry skiing, trail running, climbing, hiking and camping.

    Daren is a CPA and holds a Masters degree from Weber State University.

Randy Walk

DIRECTOR

  • Randy Walk began his journey at Hoyt Archery in 1985 as a production assembler, eventually building a remarkable 36-year career, including 26 years as president. During his leadership, Hoyt evolved into one of the premier archery companies in the world. From Olympic gold-medal-winning recurve bows to cutting-edge carbon-riser hunting bows, Walk's relentless pursuit of innovation, performance, safety, quality, and reliability is evident throughout Hoyt’s product lines. After nearly four decades of dedication, Walk officially retired from Hoyt on September 1, 2021.

    Walk earned his engineering degree from the University of Utah and holds several archery related patents. His impact on archery reaches far beyond the walls of Hoyt with 13 years served on the board of the Archery Trade Association (ATA), 34 years served on the ATA Technical Committee, strategic partnerships formed with World Archery, USA Archery, the NFAA, ASA, and other archery organizations, and ongoing support of local and national conservation groups.

    His deep passion for archery and bowhunting drives his active involvement in the industry and fuels his commitment to preserving the sport for future generations. A lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, Mule Deer Foundation, Utah Archery Association, and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife, he was inducted into the Bowhunter Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2010, Outdoor Life recognized him as one of the top 25 most influential figures in the outdoor industry.

Danielle Timmerman-Gertsch

DIRECTOR

  • Danielle Timmerman-Gertsch’s history is wrapped around camp. At an early age, she knew she wanted to work in the camp industry so pursued degrees in Outdoor Recreation and Administration to make her a better camp professional. Danielle’s professional experience includes working with day and residential YMCA camps, spearheading education initiatives with the National Recreation and Park Association, building partnerships around play with KaBOOM!, consulting with international camping organizations and teaching at nationally accredited Universities. Currently, she serves on national and local boards while consulting on strategic planning and risk management issues. Danielle looks forward to working with ESDF to advance the incredible sport of Archery.
