The Michigan State University Demmer Center is a shooting sports training facility that has both indoor and outdoor archery ranges (including a 3D walking course) as well as indoor firearm ranges where visitors can shoot up to .22 caliber pistols and rifles. They offer a variety of programs from beginner to advanced archery and firearms including Archery 101, Bowhunting and Bowfishing, Introductory Rifle or Pistol classes, the NRA’s Basic Pistol Certification Class, and frequent Concealed Pistol License classes. The Demmer Center is a Certified US Paralympic Sports Club and a USA Shooting Certified Training Center for Pistol and Rifle.
The Demmer Center is open to the general public. They provide educational, recreational, and competitive shooting sports opportunities for the whole family. They facilitate the activities of MSU shooting teams and provide a home for the possibility of future NCAA shooting teams. The Demmer Center is conveniently located and provides a venue that hosts regional, state, and national competitions such as the USA Archery sanctioned tournaments including the US Collegiate Archery, Indoor Nationals, Fall Classic and Saginaw Valley competitions.
The Demmer Center is an affiliate center of the Easton Foundations Archery Centers.
The Demmer Center offers training in recurve, compound and crossbow and have all three types of equipment available for rent.
Field/3D Outdoor Range containing 15 Lanes offers 30 shooting points with a target distance up to 70 meters.
Beginner Outdoor Range containing 15 Lanes offers 30 shooting points with a target distance up to 30 meters.
Indoor Range containing 11 Lanes offers 22 Shooting Points, up to 18 meters.
Walking 3D Archery course contains over 30 3D animals with 3 shooting points at 15 of the targets: beginner, intermediate and expert.
Included as part of the Demmer Center is the Becky and Bob Humphries Community Archery Park.
